I ate the first green beans from my garden last night. Haricots verts. I dropped them in boiling water for about a minute then tossed them with olive oil, kosher salt, pepper and minced garlic. They were the best green beans I’ve ever eaten. Fresh makes a world of difference.
I finished Shopaholic and Baby last night. I do not get the Shopaholic series. I read Shopaholic and Sister, thought it was terrible, saw the baby book and couldn’t resist. It was equally as terrible, if not worse.
The first pepper turned orange. It looks like it will be red soon.

I’m going to have to go get some green beans from the farmer’s market now.

In one of those “duh” moments I made risotto with fresh green beans from my CSA share and went “Wow, these are really good beans. I mean, I knew in theory that fresh food tasted better but I didn’t expect this.”
Genius, I tell you. I am a freaking genius.
I’ve also recently swooned over peaches from the farmer’s market. Supermarket peaches always seem mealy and bland to me. Not these.

HATE the Shopaholic books- couldn’t get through the first one, whatever it was called, with the yellow cover. Am reading Janet Evanovich right now- my very first one and I’m pretty much “eh” on her as well. I don’t get the hype.
